 BUSINESS MAN'S PLEA IGNORED BY RICK SCOTT TWICE

On January 13th 2011 Allen sent a registered letter that was never acknowledged.

On February 18th 2011 Allen again sent a registered letter. The letter was delivered to the Governor at 7:08 am

on the 22nd of February, the day just before he came to Apalachicola.

Both were confirmed as received but return service has not yet been received by Allen.

 

Rick Scott came to Apalachicola and ate some "good" oysters and visited a restaurant.
 But he without apology by-passed the restaurant of the man who had appealed to him since January 1, 2011 to help him. The 37 year old business of a 73 year old Marine Veteran in an economically depressed area shut down because of DEP over regulation. Robert D. Allen the owner and operator of White Eagle Restaurant campaigned tirelessly for Scott to be elected because he believed Scott would revitalize business.

 IS RICK SCOTT A FACIST DICTATOR?

 

 

Rick Scott did not come into office as the Governor of Florida:

He entered his office as the newly appointed CEO of a State Corporation. 

    

 

Corporatism, also known as corporativism, is a system of economic, political, or social organization that views a community as a body based upon organic social solidarity and functional distinction and roles among individuals. The term corporatism is based on the Latin word "corpus" meaning "body". Formal corporatist models are based upon the contract of corporate groups, such as agricultural, business, ethnic, labor, military, patronage, scientific, or religious affiliations, into a collective body.

One of the most prominent forms of corporatism is economic tripartism involving negotiations between business, labour, and state interest groups to set economic policy.

Corporatism is sometimes considered a synonym for fascism owing to the corporatist structures created by Mussolini's regime as well as in the latter years of the Third Reich under Albert Speer's direction. Corporatism was viewed by some as an appropriate strategy to prevent worker unrest, as well as a potentially and effective economic strategy.

     If the merger of Corpration and Government is the measure of a fascist regime then to call Rick Scott's first 120 days a move toward fascism is neither slander or conjecture.

 

Points in case:

 

1. UNPRECEDENTED POWER MOVES-Scott froze all regulations and demanded to review all pending regulations. A power move only equal to 9/11 emergency powers. Only thirty minutes in office and an executive order was signed that required his approval for any new State rules. This order halted hundreds of rules adressing such mundane things as "cleaning up mercury in State waters" and  " rigorous background checks for Nursing Home employees." His open reason for doing this was to release restrctions on business aka Corporations. It was his "thank you" to those who put him in office  and an opportunity for business to work for a time with no regulations to stop abuses or misuses of their power.

 

2. RESTRICTED PRESS ACCESS- Scott's Office announced only media representatives hand picked would be allowed to attend any meeting which was not a public meeting. Scott kicked out reporters at the PUBLIC State Capitol Building  and kept them from attending his Post Inaugural Event. The event was in a PUBLIC building and the entire State Legislature was invited. This type of event has always been seen as a Public meeting and subject to Florida Sunshine Law. But Rick Scott is sticking Government Business where the sun does not shine.

 

Rick Scott is controlling the Press at every level and allowing only those sympathetic to his causes.  He is balking on any demand of Press request for public records. He even instructed the Press not to publish "FRIVOLOUS BLOG ITEMS." He instructed Press members to "raise their hands" and not shout questions.

 

3. REFORMING POWER  STRUCTURE  FOR CORPORATE ADVANTAGE- Scotts lavish inagural celebration lasted two days that cost 3 million dollars that was raised by lobbyist and business interest. Herschel Vineyard a lawyer and executive with BAE Systems Southeast Shipyards was placed as head of the Department of Environmental Protection. Vineyard represented businesses in environmental cases. Vineyard also was involved in the permitting of BAE's treated wastewater and other regulatory affairs. Vineyard was one of many appointed from the "private sector" of business. A like appointment was Billy Buzzett the high powered spokesman and land broker for the largest landowner in Florida, "St. Joe Paper." As shown in the "Summer Camp" development in Franklin County Florida he was deeply involved in getting the County to by-pass and destroy

the DCA Comprehensive Plan (designed to protect environment) to obtain permitting for the St. Joe/Arvida Company. When negotiations stalled Buzzett was sent in to do the job and he did it. His methods were at the time highly questionable. County PlannerAlan Pierce after the "failed" negotiations left his position and worked with Buzzett for six months. After the six months Pierce returned as County Administrator and all consent and permits were granted. This was done despite a chorus of marine biologist, local citizens, and Seafood Workers showing plainly it was environmentally devastating to give St. Joe the permits. There were many allegations of "behind the scenes" manipulations, offers of buy-offs, and even murder threats to vocal dissenters. Billy Buzzett dismantled DCA regulations in Franklin County to permit the larget business in Florida to circumvent regulation. Now he is head of DCA and can fully influence DEP and by-pass all regulations. Every appointment of Rick Scott has this aim: give all the power to Corporations.  To that end he has mandated the union of DCA, DEP, and DOT into one group: Department of Growth Regulation.      Fascism is not Democracy and Corporations can not be the voice of the people. Was it the intention of the citizens of Florida to give Rick Scott the powers of a corporate dictator? Or in their fear and greed just think that jobs and money sounded good because it would benefit them personally? Or did they not think at all and are still not thinking about the empire Rick Scott is building for Florida's future. An empire where Corporations, Lobbyist, and special interest groups make all the decisions and the voice of the average citizen is silenced as it was by Billy Buzzett in Franklin County.

 

   There are dissenting voices such as the PEER group and the Clean Water Network who have filed petition with Lisa Jackson and the Environmental Protection Agency pointing out that Rick Scott broke Federal Law when he appointed Buzzett and Vineyard. They are asking that the Federal EPA take command and enforce the Clean Water Act by requesting Rick Scott to require Buzzett and Vineyard to resign their post.

    In the mean time a struggling business man in Eastpoint Florida can not get an answer from a Governor who is closing and guarding every door so business can create jobs. Reviewing Robert D. Allen's case we need not ask whether Rick Scott is only catering to Special Interest Groups. But we do need to ask what is the consequence when BIG Business and BIG Government ignore the common citizen and do not even want to mention environmental regulation or the "P" word-(pollution). Our waters are NOT free of oil and Corexit. The safety of our Seafood IS in question. We can not let Rick Scott put government where the sun does not shine.

While we play "politics" people all along the Gulf of Mexico are getting unexplained sickness. Dead fish and dead wildlife are continuing to wash ashore. The real mark of the Fascist is they care nothing for the sick and dying or it's cause. They only want power and money for the elite who agree with them.
